TEE OFF FOR GOLF
Flinders Golf Club is one of the most scenic in all of Australia, with several holes running towards or alongside the ocean and featuring superb views of Bass Strait.
The short Par 4 fourth hole, known as the Coffin, is one of the most famous on the Peninsula. The hole runs along a cliff top, with breathtaking views of the ocean to your left and deep gullies and gorges guarding the small green. The course was recently rated the 11th best public access course in Victoria. There is a tremendous variety of golf courses on the Peninsular including links and resort style courses, all are in excellent condition year round and extremely affordable.
LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN
The Bittern Market is held each Sunday morning from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Bittern Railway Station. The Red Hill Market is held on the 1st Saturday of each month between September to May from 8am to 1pm.
GET LOST IN ASHCOMBE MAZE
Ashcombe Maze and Water Gardens feature over 25 acres of gardens, including woodland walks, rock gardens, exotic tree forest and water falls. Their hedge maze is Australia's oldest and most famous maze enjoyed by all that face the challenge "to lose yourself". Their circular rose maze is the first of its kind in the world. With its distinct maritime climate, similar to that of the Bordeaux region of France, the Mornington Penninsula produces quality wines. Traditional varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir excel.
